Stand Up If
A fast, fun staff meeting icebreaker where teachers stand up if a statement applies to them.

A fast, whole-group icebreaker where the facilitator reads statements aloud and staff stand up if each one applies to them. It gets people moving, laughing, and learning something new about their colleagues in just a few minutes.
Why try it
This staff meeting icebreaker works well at the start of a PD session, back-to-school meeting, or any gathering where you want to warm up the room quickly. It surfaces shared experiences across grade levels and departments without putting anyone on the spot, and the energy it creates carries into the rest of the meeting.

Instructions
Print and prep
Print the included statement list before the meeting. One copy for the facilitator is all you need.
Run the activity
Read each statement aloud. Staff stand up if it applies to them, then sit back down before the next one. Keep the pace quick and light.
Wrap it up
After the last statement, invite a quick reaction: ask staff to share one thing that surprised them or one thing they have in common with someone across the room.

Additional tips for running this resource.
Leader Tip #1
Make it yours
Swap in a few school-specific statements, such as references to a shared event or inside joke, to make the activity feel personal to your team.
Leader Tip #2
Invite staff input
Partway through the list, pause and ask a few staff members to share a prompt of their own. It adds energy and a personal touch.
