Two women sit at a wooden table. One writes on a sheet of paper. Notebooks, pens, a laptop, and post-it notes are scattered on the table.

A quick, low-prep icebreaker where staff mingle and discover one similarity and one difference with each colleague they meet. It runs all day alongside a PD or works as a standalone opener.

Why try it

This activity keeps conversations going naturally throughout a PD day, without requiring staff to sit in a circle or answer on the spot. Staff move at their own pace, meet people across grade levels and departments, and leave knowing a little more about the people they work with.
