Find Someone Who Icebreaker
A staff meeting icebreaker that gets people moving and connecting fast.

A quick, get-up-and-move icebreaker that gets staff talking to colleagues outside their usual circles. Everyone works the room to find someone who matches each prompt on the included printable, collecting signatures as they go.
Why try it
This activity works well as a PD opener or staff meeting warmup because it gets people out of their seats and into conversations right away. Staff discover things they didn't know about their colleagues, from surprising hobbies to shared experiences, which helps build connection across grade levels and departments.

Instructions
Print and distribute
Print one Find Someone Who... sheet per staff member and hand them out as people arrive or at the start of your PD or meeting.
Explain the rules
Ask staff to walk around the room and find a different colleague who matches each prompt on their sheet. Each person can only sign one box per sheet, so participants need to keep moving and meet as many people as possible.
Play
Set a timer and let staff mingle. The first person to fill every box wins, or award a small prize to whoever has the most signatures when time is called.
Share out
Ask a few staff members to share something surprising they learned. One or two quick share-outs are enough to wrap it up.

Additional tips for running this resource.
Leader Tip #1
Set the timer visibly
Show the countdown on a screen or announce how much time is left at the halfway mark so the energy stays up.
Leader Tip #2
Offer a small prize
Even a simple incentive, like a candy bar or a coupon for a free dress-down day, gives people a reason to hustle.
Leader Tip #3
Use it early
This works best at the very start of a gathering, before agenda items begin, so staff arrive into movement rather than sitting right away.
