Gratitude & Celebration Postcards
An easy eay to send a quick handwritten note that celebrates a win.

These printable postcards make it easy to send a quick handwritten note that celebrates a win, acknowledges effort, or lets someone know their work is making a difference.
Why try it
Recognition doesn't have to be complicated to be meaningful. A short handwritten note can brighten someone's day, reinforce positive work, and show staff that their efforts are being noticed.
The best part? It only takes a few minutes. Whether you leave a postcard in a mailbox, on a desk, or send it home, these small moments of recognition can help build a culture where people feel appreciated and valued for the work they do every day.

Instructions
Print a batch and write to a few people each week
Print a small batch at the start of each month so they're ready when you need them. Block five minutes each week, choose 3 to 5 people, and write something real: a moment you observed, a strength you noticed, or an impact they had on a student.
Deliver the postcard
Drop it in their school mailbox for a quick win, or mail it home if you want the recognition to land outside of work. A postcard arriving at home often carries extra weight because it crosses into their personal space.
Activity variations
Adapt to fit your school's vibe, budget, and setting.
Mail a home edition
Send postcards to staff home addresses a few times a year for moments when you want recognition to feel extra personal.
Student-written version
Have students write a quick note on the back of the postcard to a teacher or staff member, then deliver them together.

Additional tips for running this resource.
Leader Tip #1
Keep a running list
Jot down things you notice throughout the week so you're never starting from a blank page when you sit down to write.
Leader Tip #2
Include support staff
Custodians, paras, and office staff are often the most overlooked. A postcard to someone who rarely gets recognition lands especially hard.
