Staff Wellness Challenge
A point-based wellness challenge that supports staff wellbeing through daily habits.

A point-based wellness challenge that staff can complete on their own or as a whole team. Staff earn points for simple daily habits like drinking water, taking a walk, or calling a friend, then track their progress on an included recording sheet or bulletin board.
Why try it
Give staff an easy, structured way to build healthy habits into their week. A point system turns small wellness actions into a visible, ongoing win, whether staff are working toward an individual goal or a shared team total.
Running the challenge as a whole staff also builds a sense of teamwork, since everyone is working toward the same weekly point goal together.
Things you'll need

Instructions
Choose individual or whole staff
Decide whether staff will complete the challenge on their own or together as a team. For individual challenges, hand out the activity list and tracker to each staff member. For a whole staff challenge, set up a bulletin board in the staff lounge with the activity list and a space for staff to color in stars.
Set a point goal
Set a goal staff can work toward, such as 12 points for an individual weekly goal or 100 points for a shared staff goal. Share the goal along with the activity list so everyone knows what they're working toward.
Track and complete activities
Staff complete activities from the list and color in a star matching its point value, either on their personal tracker or on the shared bulletin board. Activities can be repeated, and each completion should be recorded.
Celebrate and reward
When staff reach the goal, celebrate with a reward. For individual challenges, enter staff who reach their goal into a prize drawing or give them a shout-out in the staff newsletter. For a whole staff challenge, celebrate with a dress-down day, a coffee bar in the lounge, or a themed day.
Activity variations
Adapt to fit your school's vibe, budget, and setting.
Department showdown
Run the challenge as a competition between grade levels or departments, with the highest-scoring group earning a shared prize.
Double point days
Offer double points for activities completed as a group, such as a lunchtime walk, to encourage staff to team up.
Semester tradition
Repeat the challenge once each semester so staff wellbeing stays part of your regular calendar of activities.

Additional tips for running this resource.
Leader Tip #1
Model it yourself
Complete activities alongside your staff so the challenge feels shared rather than assigned from the top down.
Leader Tip #2
Add bonus points
Introduce a surprise bonus activity partway through the week, like an extra point for a five-minute gratitude break, to keep things fresh.
Leader Tip #3
Set a clear deadline
Give staff a specific date and location for turning in trackers or updating the bulletin board so the goal stays on track.
