A silent, fast-paced icebreaker.

A silent, fast-paced icebreaker where staff scan a slide to spot two matching actions, then race to act one out before anyone else. It works for a full staff meeting or a quick five-minute warm-up.
Why try it
Get staff up and laughing together in the first five minutes of a meeting. The silent, fast-moving format means everyone can jump in and compete on equal footing.

Instructions
Set up and display
Print the answer key so you know which action to look for on each slide. Display the first round to the full group and use a countdown to make sure everyone is ready before revealing it.
Spot the match
Staff scan the slide to find the two images showing the same action. No talking or sounds are allowed while searching.
Act it out
The first person to spot the match stands up and performs the action using only gestures and movement, just like traditional charades.
Score and move on
Award a point to the first person or team to perform the correct action, then move to the next round. Keep a running tally on a scoreboard or have each team track their own.
Activity variations
Adapt to fit your school's vibe, budget, and setting.
Team play
Divide staff into teams before playing. The first person to correctly act out the match earns a point for their team, and the team with the most points after all rounds wins.
Team relay
Split staff into two lines. The first person in each line finds the match and acts it out, then tags the next teammate before the following round begins. The first team through every round wins.
Table teams
Group staff by table, department, or grade level. The first person to stand and act out the match earns a point for their table, with the highest-scoring table winning.
Individual play
Skip the teams entirely and let everyone compete for themselves. Whoever earns the most points across all rounds wins.
