Teacher Celebration Styles Quiz
A staff appreciation activity that helps you learn how each teacher likes to be celebrated.

A quick quiz that helps you find out how your staff likes to be celebrated. Staff answer a few questions, land on one of four celebration styles, then group up with others who match. It's a simple way to plan celebrations that actually fit the people you're celebrating.
Why try it
Learn how your staff wants to be celebrated instead of guessing. Some people light up at a school wide shoutout, while others would rather get a handwritten note at their desk. Once you know each teacher's style, you can plan appreciation moments that land well instead of missing the mark.

Instructions
Hand out the quiz
Print and pass out the quiz to every staff member at the start of the year. Give them 5-10 minutes to answer the questions and identify their celebration style, so you know how to celebrate each person all year long.
Group by style
Have staff pick up the card that matches their result and find others in the same group. Four styles will form: Sociable Settings, Collaborative Challenges, Thoughtful Tokens, and Modest Merriment.
Complete the response sheet
Give each group their matching response sheet and idea sheet. Have them fill in three dream celebrations, two ideas that could work at your school, and one potential community partner, using the idea sheet for inspiration.
Share and collect ideas
Have each group share their responses with the whole staff, then collect all the sheets and cards to reference later.

Additional tips for running this resource.
Leader Tip #1
Save the responses
Hold onto the completed response sheets so you have a ready list of ideas the next time you're planning a celebration.
Leader Tip #2
New staff onboarding
Give new hires the quiz during their first week so you know how to celebrate them from day one.
Leader Tip #3
Grade level version
Have grade level or department teams complete the response sheet together instead of by celebration style group, so the ideas reflect what already works for that team.
