Growth Goal Quick Check
Turn a quick hallway chat into a moment for reflection and support.

A three-question check-in you can run during a hallway chat, classroom visit, or lounge stop. It gives teachers a moment to reflect on their goals and gives you a quick, natural way to offer support.
Why try it
Give teachers a moment to reflect on their goals with three quick questions that turn a hallway pass or classroom visit into a real conversation about progress and next steps. Regular check-ins like this build trust and keep coaching relationships active between formal evaluations. They also give you a running record of where each teacher stands on their goals, so you can follow up with the right support at the right time.

Print the goal check cards
Print the included Goal Check cards and keep a few with you as you move through the building.
Ask the three questions
During a hallway chat, classroom visit, or lounge stop, ask: What's one small win toward your goal? What's your next step or focus? How can I support you right now?
Jot down the response
Fill in a card with the teacher's name and date, or jot a quick note on your own so you can follow up later.
Reflect with the tracker
After a few check-ins, use the included reflection tracker to log what staff said, spot patterns or themes, and decide on an action.
Circle back
Bring up what you learned in a future check-in or staff meeting to show you remembered and to keep the goal moving forward.
Activity variations
Adapt to fit your school's vibe, budget, and setting.
Staff meeting version
Ask the three questions during a staff meeting instead of one-on-one, giving each teacher a moment to answer in writing.
Team check-in
